This study aims to explore the effectiveness of mentoring on performance of junior doctors and also how mentoring acts as a catalyst to boot the performance of junior doctors. This study was conducted on junior doctors of MKCG Medical College and Hospital, Odisha, India to find out the role of mentoring in healthcare sector. The methodology followed for this study is based on observation method, formal and informal meeting with senior doctors and junior doctors and related literature that has been collected from different databases. After making intensive review, the authors conclude that efficacy of mentoring has a wide impact on junior doctors’ performance and it helps to boost their performance. It also helps to nurture junior doctors to overcome different challenges in future. It has recommended that further study can be done on different factors of healthcare sector which can help to enhance the performance of junior doctors.
