Submission Guidelines
COMPUTOLOGY: Journal of Applied Computer Science and Intelligent Technologies
Following are the guidelines for authors who wish to submit their manuscripts to the above-mentioned journal:
Note: Any submitted manuscript, if found non-compliant with any of the given journal guidelines would be subject to Desk Rejection, and would not go for the peer-review process.
1. The manuscript has to be in English language only. The manuscript submission is to be made through JPI Online submission and peer-review system only at www.journalpressindia.com/cjacsit. JPI Online Journal Management System (OJMS) guides the authors through the process of submitting manuscript and uploading files in a step-wise manner. It also helps the author to track the post submission status of their manuscript, reviewers’ comments and decision at the respective online author dashboard.
2. An author (as corresponding or co-author) cannot make more than one submission in a period of 6 months.
3. Before making the online submission, the author/s should ensure the following in respect of their manuscript:
Online Form basic details
- Author/s details (name, status, affiliation, sequence etc.) should be mentioned carefully, as its cannot be changed after the submission.
- The recommended length of a manuscript is around 6,000 words (including all notes, references, tables and appendices).
- Abstract length should be around 150 words and keywords around 4 to 5 words.
- Manuscript should not have more than 4 authors.
Guidelines regarding manuscript
- The manuscript file is to be uploaded in word doc /docx format only and should have no author details or any identifying information related to the author/s.
- Manuscript should be formatted as per suggested paper template available at journal home page.
- Manuscript should be thoroughly proofread and checked for spellings and grammar.
- Wherever required, permission must be obtained for the use of ‘Copyrighted material’ from other sources. (like any Text, Quotation, Table, Figure, Charts, Image etc.)
- Every Table or Figure must have Numbering, Heading and Source.
- Figure must be provided in an Editable or High quality figure (only in case where editable figure is not possible).
- Table should always be in an editable format; not in a picture format.
- Table numbering should follow a pattern like Table 1, Table 2, Table 3 … so on, (and not any other form such as as Table 1.1 or Table 1.1.1 etc.)
- Figure numbering should follow a pattern like Figure 1, Figure 2, Figure 3 … so on, (and not as Figure 1.1 or Figure 1.1.1 etc.)
- Always use the word ‘Figure’ for images, charts, graphs or any other graphics used in the manuscript.
- Provide the Source or Reference for any ‘Quotation’ from other sources directly given in the manuscript.
Citation and References
- In-text citation style should have the author name/s instead of numbering.
- 6th APA (American Psychological Association) style of referencing should be followed for references. https://aut.ac.nz.libguides.com/APA6th/referencelist
- All references that have been cited in the manuscript must be mentioned in the ‘Reference list’ of the manuscript and should be cross-linked.
- ‘References List’ should not be more than 15% of article word length.
- Author should cite minimum 5 articles from JPI journals in their manuscript.
4. Plagiarism check: The authors are informed that all submitted manuscripts go through a similarity check and if the similarity score is 15% or more (including authors’ own publications), the manuscript would not be considered for the peer-review process. This check is done as soon as the manuscript is received and hence the authors must ensure that the similarity index is less than 15% for their submitted manuscript. 5. Peer-review Policy: All papers submitted to the journal would be subject to JPI's online review system. JPI follows a double-blind peer review system (may take minimum 16-20 weeks to take its first decision) for selecting articles to be published. The decsision regarding acceptance/rejection/re-submission etc. would be communicated only after the completion of peer-review process. 6. Ethics policy: Contributors to the Journal are advised to be careful as not to violate any of the provisions of the Copyright Act and the Rules made thereof as regards the material used in the papers or their sources. JPI will not be responsible for any violations or lapses on the part of the contributors in this regard. For more information, please refer to our detailed Ethics policy.
7. Copyright and licensing: On acceptance of a paper, the author will be required to electronically submit a ‘Copyright Form’ (on JPI online submission portal), which is an exclusive license agreement that grants JPI the sole and exclusive right and license to publish the article. The ‘Copyright Form’ would also require the author/s to warrant the following:
- The manuscript is solely submitted to this journal and is not currently under submission to, or consideration by, any other journal or publication.
- The manuscript has not been published before in its current or a substantially similar form.
- The article is the original work of the author/s and does not infringe the intellectual property rights of any other person or entity and cannot be considered as plagiarising any other published work.
- The author/s have obtained the necessary written permission from the appropriate copyright owner or authorities for the reproduction in the article and in the journal of any text, illustration or other material.
- The authors have declared any potential conflict of interest in the research.
- Any support from a third party has been noted in the Acknowledgements.
- Sources of funding, if any, have been acknowledged.
- The author/s have not previously assigned or licensed the article to any third party.
- The article contains no statement that is abusive, defamatory, fraudulent, or in any other way unlawful or in violation of applicable laws.
- Anyone who has made a significant contribution to this article been listed as an author. Minor contributors have been noted in the Acknowledgements section.
- The authors will not permit others to electronically gather and save their article to a separate server.
- The authors acknowledge that the publisher would publish the article in the above-specified journal and that it reserves the right to make such editorial changes as may be required to make the article suitable for publication.
8. The Editorial Team reserves the right to make suitable editorial changes in the papers submitted and accepted for publication.
