Sports diplomacy which falls under the category of public diplomacy signifies engagement with the foreign public within the context of realizing policy objectives. This paper seeks to analyze important questions regarding how international sporting events can act as bargaining chips to bolster relations between the countries, and sports as a tool for soft power.
