The continuous degradation of the environment has brought the focus of economies to sustainable ways of working. Economies are now switching to sustainable methods from traditional methods. The banking sector has also taken a path towards green goals. Green banking has evolved in these times of global crisis, aiming towards sustainability. This paper discusses the concept of green banking and assesses the awareness level and source of awareness regarding green banking practices among individuals. The primary data of 414 respondents has been collected from the Lucknow city. The study found that most individuals are aware of the term ‘green banking’ and most of them have gained awareness through online channels. The most popular green banking service among them is Mobile wallets. Though many people are aware of the green banking services yet certain steps required to be taken by banks to spread awareness among the masses.
