Banking is a significant factor of an economy; stronger the banking system, stronger and stable is the economic system. In simple words, when the banking system of any country is powerful and equipped with all the latest techniques and infrastructure, it gives an edge to the financial transactions of this country compared to other nations. Banking is supposed to contribute substantially towards economic growth and development, as it assists to connect financial sectors across nations. In today’s world, internet banking is of much importance and attracts large number of existing as well as potential customers. The purpose of this study is to assess the factors affecting the adoption of internet banking in Jammu and Kashmir with particular reference to J&K Bank. Using random sampling method, data was obtained through questionnaire from existing customers of J&K Bank. These results revealed the various determinants of adoption of internet banking in Jammu and Kashmir. The findings suggest that concerned authorities should take immediate steps to avoid difficulties related to security aspect, perceived usefulness, and ease of use. Finally, recommendations have been offered based on the findings of the study.
