The rapid growth of information and communication technologies (ICTs) in recent decades has transformed virtually every aspect of modern life. However, while digital technologies have the potential to create enormous benefits for individuals and society, the reality is that not everyone has equal access to these technologies. The digital divide, or the gap between those who have access to digital technologies and those who do not, has become a critical social and economic issue. The digital divide refers to the unequal access to information and communication technologies (ICTs) between different groups of people, particularly between those who have access to technology and those who do not. The instant article deals with the digital divide amongst Circles (states/areas) as defined by Department of Telecommunication and tries to find the factors responsible for said digital divide through empirical study.
