The present paper is based on the study of population ageing in India and its neighbouring countries. The associated parameters of population ageing: per cent of elderly, median age and life expectancy in India and its neighbouring countries in the context of total population size, human development index, gross domestic product etc have been studied. Trends for life expectancy and healthy life expectancy have been studied thoroughly. It has been observed that in most cases, these are almost exactly positively related with time. Through the models developed for per cent of elderly, life expectancy and healthy life expectancy; these parameters may be estimated up to some significant levels of accuracy. An outline of social security for elders in these countries has been provided.
