The Kerala Police Departments’ innovative approach to community policing fostered public trust and cooperation, leading to a significant reduction in crime rates and highlighting the importance of building trust between law enforcement and the public. Despite this, allegations of misbehaviour and rule violations by police persist, echoing the findings of a similar in Chicago police. This study aimed at to measure the effectiveness of the basic training of sub-inspectors of the General Executive Branch conducted by the Kerala Police Academy in the service delivery mechanism. The data for the study is collected by administering questionnaires to the working sub-inspectors who completed their training prior to three years. The study found that the training was substantially impacted in most of the areas of indoor and outdoor facilities. The mean score values indicate that trainees are satisfied with the depth of knowledge, presentation skill, behaviour and approach of non-teaching staff, training faculty, infrastructure facilities, food and refreshment.
